Executive Director, THE POISE PROJECT
Nonprofit formed in 2016 with the mission to help the public maintain poise, dignity, and personal growth throughout all stages and challenges of life using Alexander technique (AT) principles by introducing alternatives to current private practice/private pay economic models, initiating research projects, presenting research and advocating for AT at 30+ international medical and rehab conferences, and creating AT-based classes for target populations and post-graduate training to prepare AT teachers to meet the demands of 21st century industry jobs.
Her first AT training was in 1976 and she was certified in 1985. She is an active member of the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine (ACRM), participating in networking groups and co-authoring peer-reviewed public-facing articles identifying AT as a self-management intervention for Long COVID, Post-Stroke recovery, Mild Cognitive Impairment, and Parkinson’s disease.
